‘Gone’ sees McMorrow pairing up with Grammy-winning producer Paul Epworth (of Adele, U2 and London Grammar fame) and Moon Willis (Anne-Marie, Hare Squead).
Following the release of the recent track 'I Should Go' with Kenny Beats, James Vincent McMorrow has returned with a smooth R&B single - 'Gone' - showcasing the singer-songwriter at his most talented.
Featuring a heavy drum beats background, the production influence of Kenny Beats is immediately apparent.
It marks a new direction for the artist, whose soulful indie versatility seemingly knows no bounds.
‘Gone’, explains James “is about the disintegration of relationships. In my case, the disintegration of my relationship with myself. No song or lyric I’ve ever written has come as close to this one at capturing how I feel about life, how I hear it, my fear of it, my obsession with it, my belligerent belief that I can control it, my quiet acknowledgment in the middle of the night that I will never control a single thing. And there’s nothing wrong with any of it. There’s absolute beauty in embracing the chaos and the decay. I know I was exhausted pretending everything was all right.”
McMorrow returned to the music scene back in May of this year with 'Headlights', the first single from his upcoming fifth album.

The songs for his forthcoming album were recorded between Dublin, LA, and London.
“I have more responsibilities, people and expectations around me than ever, and the world is constantly telling me to change and grow as a person,” he said. “But I don’t feel any more responsible or capable than I did when I was 18-years-old. This record is about embracing the idea that it’s okay to not have things figured out."
The platinum-selling artist has independently clocked up over 750 million streams, reached No.1 in Ireland, and seen his music travel everywhere from Drake's Views to Game Of Thrones.
'Headlights' is our first taste of McMorrow's fifth studio album – following 2017's True Care.
The musician is scheduled to play the Olympia Theatre on April 17th and 18th at the end of his European tour, following a Leisureland Galway gig on March 16th, a Limerick appearance at the Milk Market on March 18th and a performance at The Telegraph Building, Belfast, on March 19th.
