Jameson Connects' global St. Patrick's Day celebration will air on March 17, featuring some of the most exciting names in R&B, hip-hop and rap, including Denise Chaila. So join in, wherever you are!
Since first emerging on the Irish scene with an appearance on Rusangano Family's Choice Music Prize-winning album Let The Dead Bury The Dead, Denise Chaila has established herself as one of Ireland's thrillingly creative new talents. Blurring the boundaries between spoken word and rap, she released her two-track debut EP, Duel Citizenship, in 2019 – followed by lauded performances on The Late Late Show and Other Voices' Courage series last year.
In October, she took her sound and vision to powerful new heights, with the release of her highly anticipated debut mixtape, Go Bravely, on Narolane Records – featuring the acclaimed single 'Chaila', which has since clocked up over half a million streams on Spotify alone.
"Go Bravely cements Denise Chaila’s status as one of the most talented young artists in Ireland today," Hot Press's Ingrid Angulo wrote in her review of the mixtape. "Her flow is immaculate, her lyrics tight and nuanced, and she creates a unique sound that simultaneously adheres to the confident tropes of modern hip-hop while exploring the realm of poetic spoken word. Her desire for justice and social change is heavily apparent on Go Bravely, promoting transformation through inspiration. An Irish Album of the Year contender."
