You can watch Denise Chaila, Kojaque and Unorthodox Coolock alongside Jessie Reyez, Junia-T and Savannah Ré on St Patrick's Day, as part of JAMESON CONNECTS JESSIE REYEZ AND FRIENDS.
On St Patrick's Day, March 17, Jameson Connects is bringing together some of the most thrilling names in R&B, hip-hop and spoken word – including Irish acts Denise Chaila, Kojaque and Unorthodox Coolock – for a unique global celebration and a series of immersive performances on the most untraditional traditional day there is. So join in, wherever you are!
Connection is at the heart of the JAMESON CONNECTS JESSIE REYEZ AND FRIENDS project – connecting you to your favourite artists, and connecting local scenes to global communities. While we can't all celebrate and connect in person right now, this global event aims to bring the local live, straight to your sitting room screens.
As a celebration of "hometowns and communities", you'll be brought to the streets of Toronto, Canada – home to Grammy-nominated artist Jessie Reyez – as well as to the local scenes of Denise Chaila, Kojaque and Unorthodox Coolock.
Since first emerging on the Irish scene with an appearance on Rusangano Family's Choice Music Prize-winning album Let The Dead Bury The Dead, Denise Chaila has established herself as one of Ireland's thrillingly creative new talents. Blurring the boundaries between spoken word and rap, she released her two-track debut EP, Duel Citizenship, in 2019. In October, she took her sound and vision to powerful new heights, with the release of her highly anticipated debut mixtape, Go Bravely, on Narolane Records.
Hotly tipped Dublin rapper Kojaque is rapidly becoming one of the most exciting forces in hip-hop, on these shores and beyond. His debut album, out later this year, is set to be the latest landmark on what's already been a remarkable career – following the release of his Choice Music Prize-nominated concept tape Deli Daydreams in 2018, and his collaborative mixtape with Luka Palm, Green Diesel, in 2019. Since being tipped as one of the Hot Press 'Hot For 2019' Irish Acts, the Soft Boy Records co-founder has also enjoyed several high-profile festival appearances; a support slot for Lana Del Rey at Malahide Castle; and a coveted spot on YouTube Music's Foundry programme.
Also hailing from Dublin, Unorthodox Coolock has built up a formidable reputation as a spoken word performer, writer and actor. Fearlessly flying the flag for his city, the multi-talented artist, also known as Craig Doyle, brought his captivatingly unique storytelling skills to new heights while joining The Murder Capital on their UK and Ireland tour – which included a sold-out homecoming show at Vicar Street. The future looks dazzlingly bright for Craig, who is set to release his Unorthodox Coolock book later this year, and is currently in the process of editing a self-made documentary filmed during the tour – all while facilitating an online creative workshop for disadvantaged youths.
Denise Chaila, Kojaque and Unorthodox Coolock will be putting their local scenes on the map as part of Jameson Connects' unique St Patrick's Day celebration – alongside Canadian stars Jessie Reyez, Junia-T and Savannah Ré.
