The Chicago-based R&B singer and poet gained widespread recognition through her appearances on a number of songs with Chance The Rapper, including the hit 'Sunday Candy'. She also appeared on Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' 'White Privilege II' from 2016's This Unruly Mess I've Made. Her full-length studio debut, HEAVN, which featured fellow Chicagoans Chance The Rapper, Saba, Noname, Nico Segal (formerly known as Donnie Trumpet) and Kweku Collins, was released to critical acclaim in 2016.
Woods' upcoming project, LEGACY! LEGACY!, pays tribute to a number of influential American figures, including James Baldwin, Eartha Kitt, Muddy Waters, Sun Ra, and Nikki Giovanni. The latest single, 'ZORA', is named after Harlem Renaissance-era author and folklorist Zora Neale Hurston. The project will once again see Woods working with Saba and Nico Segal, and will also feature production from Peter Cottontale, oddCouple and Slot-A.
The video for 'ZORA' was directed by Vincent Martell of VAM Studio, who previously worked with Woods on the videos for 'GIOVANNI', 'LSD', and 'Holy'.
