American singer songwriter, rapper and actress Janelle Monáe has dropped 'Dirty Computer', one of the most hotly anticipated albums of the year.
The album release follows a flurry of hits, 'Make Me Feel', 'Pynk', 'Django Jane' and 'I Like That'.
The release follows an interview with the Rolling Stone where she opened up about her sexuality, saying "Being a queer black woman in America, someone who has been in relationships with both men and women – I consider myself to be a free-ass motherfucker."
Monáe has been active in the music scene since 2010, when she released her critically acclaimed debut album 'The ArchAndroid', reaching number 17 on the Billboard 200. In 2012, Monáe featured on FUN.'s track 'We Are Young' which reached number one in the Billboard Hot 100. In 2013, Monáe released her second album, 'The Electric Lady', and in the time following she has starred in critically acclaimed films 'Hidden Figures' and Oscar Best Picture 2017 'Moonlight'.
