She dominated 2018 with her newest album Dirty Computer.
Grammy Award-nominated singer-songwriter, performer, producer, actress and activist Janelle Monáe brings her headline show to The Summer Series at Trinity College Dublin on the 3rd of July 2019.
Monáe releasesd her hugely successful third album Dirty Computer this year, as well as dropping some stunning visuals for singles like 'Make Me Feel,' 'Django Jane' and 'PYNK,' giving fans an exciting peek in to the creative vision for her new music.
In our Hot Press 2019 Annual, which is out now, we ranked Dirty Computer as the third best album of the year, arguing that the album's release helped crown Janelle Monae as one of the greatest pop innovator of her generation.
Monáe has also been noted as a successful actress, as well as a musician. In 2016, she embarked on her film acting career with performances in two of that year's more important films - Hidden Figures and Moonlight. Both films received Academy Award nominations for Best Picture, with the latter winning the award at the 89th Academy Awards.

The Trinity Summer Series take place each year on the lawns of Trinity's cricket grounds, in the centre of Dublin. Previous headliners have included Gregory Porter, Pixies, Two Door Cinema Club and Rag 'n' Bone Man.
This year, the festival has announced that Paul Weller and New Order as two of its headliners. They'll perform at July 4 and Sunday 7 respectively.
