Despite four nominations, Beyoncé has never won the prestigious Album Of The Year award at the Grammys.
At this year's Grammys, many were hoping that Beyoncé would finally win Album of the Year for the boundary-pushing global hit Renaissance. It was undeniably disappointing for some that Harry Styles took home the coveted gong with Harry's House.
Despite being nominated with the albums I Am... Sasha Fierce (2008), self-titled album (2013), Lemonade and now Renaissance; Beyoncé has never won the night's top award.
In an interview with Tidal Magazine before the Grammy Awards, Jay-Z was asked if he had to remove himself emotionally to get through the process.
"Yeah, I remove myself from the process and hope they just get it right. It got to the point where I was like, it’s just a marketing thing. You go, you got an album out and it could help the sales go up. It got to that point, but deep down ... Again, we grew up idolising this. It was like one of the pillars for us. It was like, “We want to go Gold.” Yeah, I’ve been in it that long," the rapper said.

Renaissance has had a widespread influence, not least topping charts globally. "Look what it’s done to the culture. Look how the energy of the world moved," Jay-Z elaborated.
"They play her whole album in the club. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen that. The whole entire joint — like, everything?! Every remix is amazing. Everyone’s inspired. It has inspired the world. Every remix is better than the other one.“
Even though Beyoncè didn't win the Grammy for Album of the Year, she won four awards, breaking the record for the most wins ever. These include Grammys for the Best Dance/Electronic Music Album - Renaissance, Best Dance/Electronic Recording - Break My Soul, Best R&B Performance - Plastic Off The Sofa and Best R&B Song - Cuff It.
In total, this makes her the first person holding more than 32 Grammy Awards.
