Highly active throughout the UK music scene, Dinosaur will touch down at The Sugar Club to kick off their 8-stop Irish tour.
Switching between synth and trumpet, award-winning trumpet player, composer, bandleader and BBC New Generation Artist Laura Jurd has been heralded as one of the strongest, most interesting new trumpet voices in jazz.
Jurd's eclectic and thoughtful compositions are delivered with precision and panache by the well-oiled rhythm section which stands behind her. The band as a whole has been performing together for over six years. The result: compelling live performances and a cohesive group sound – a fusion of sparse, epigrammatic trumpet lines, catchy riffs, shifting dance grooves and pulsing bass lines.
With the release of their highly-acclaimed album Together, As One in 2016, Dinosaur have been garnering a growing international reputation.
