Jazzy touched on how Bissett and Robbie G of Belters only have been giving Irish dance artists amidst a surge in popularity in the genre.
In her interview for the Hot Press 2025 annual, Jazzy credited Belters Only for the recent skyrocketing in popularity dance music in Ireland.
The genre has become immensely popular in recent years, with a number of Irish acts enjoying streaming figures in the tens of millions. Jazzy became the biggest Irish female artist on Spotify in October, with the singer and producer's track 'Giving Me' also achieving diamond status earlier on in the year.
The tune was made alongside Dublin house duo Belters Only, with whom Jazzy has joined forces with a number of times in the past, including their 2021 breakthrough song 'Make Me Feel Good'.
“We’ve had plenty of success stories come from here,” Jazzy said. “They’re all killing it, we’re all in the same circle, so it’s nice to have friends on the same team. I think it’s all grown from what Belters started, to be honest with you. I don’t remember there being anything really going on in the dance scene in Ireland before. The boys put out their first song and it’s just flourished since then.
“They seem to be really giving everyone a push, and obviously I’ve stemmed from that too. It just goes to show what you can do when people come together on this little island. I always wear the flag with pride wherever I go.”
The 28-year-old Crumlin native, real name Yasmin Byrne, was named Hot Press' Dance Act Of The Year for 2024, having enjoyed a stellar annum of festival headline slots, numerous awards and various other accolades. Elsewhere in the interview, Jazzy reflects on an incredibly successful 12 months, her plans for a debut album and managing her mental health amidst her newfound stardom.
