Jenny Ní Rúiséil has released her new track ‘Ériú’ on Bandcamp, with proceeds dedicated to Gaza Go Bragh.
The Kildare-born, Sligo-based musician named the track after the Irish Goddess Ériu, and was accompanied by Ciara O’ Donnell on bodhrán. She also released the song 'Ogham Chant,' with Bandcamp proceeds going to Gaza Go Bragh.
“Ériú is the spirit of Ireland. She speaks through song,” Rúiséil said. “She speaks through unspoken gestures of support, solidarity and recognition of our shared humanity and global efforts to find our way back to a way of life rooted in love and respect, with rightful ownership of ancestral lands, cultures, and languages restored.”
Gaza Go Bragh is an organisation that provides tents, water, cash assistance and evacuations for those living in Gaza.
“The song is a prayer – the extension of a hand from Ireland to Palestine, offering support, strength, and hope from a country that knows historical oppression, to another who needs the world to understand its current reality of oppression,” Rúiséil said.

The song was inspired by a fundraiser the artist participated in last year, Radical Love for Gaza, organised by Laura Murphy, Tara Brading and Aoife Lowden.
“My hope is that this song connects us with the strength, resilience, and radical love of Ériu, as a way to replenish and rebuild capacity to resist the forces that divide us,” said Rúiséil.
