The show will coincide with the release of her next single ‘January Lullaby (Shut Up And Rest)’, out January 15.
Jess Kav has announced a headline show in the Workman’s Cellar for January 18, marking her first-ever performance as a solo artist.
She will be joined by a band made up of Louis Younge and Korey (Bricknasty), Geoff Warner Clayton (Gavin James) and Finn O’Reilly (Left Iris).
Kav is set to unveil an album’s worth of new music, exploring the themes that define her songwriting, “hope, chaos, rage, and humour,” according to the official description.
The gig will coincide with the release of her next single ‘January Lullaby (Shut Up And Rest)’, out January 15. The track was born out of a collaboration with Geoff Warner Clayton at The Beekeepers Retreat, in Clare last year. It captures the stillness of winter and the quiet contemplation of a life in transition.
The announcements follow a sold-out run of her show Fermented Dreams at Dublin Fringe 2024, an amalgam of Kav’s solo musical work, her experiences in the music industry and her emerging talent in theatre, including seven unreleased songs, around which the artist had written a semi-autobiographical script.

In September, she also played a Leonard Cohen tribute show – to celebrate what would have been his 90th birthday on the 21st – featuring with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra at 3Arena, in a show which also included vocal performances from Mick Flannery, Suzanne Savage and Pheilim Drew.
Kav is best known as a singer, songwriter and performer – she was lead vocalist with the Dublin outfit Barq, in which guise she appeared on the cover of Hot Press back in 2018. She was also part of Sister Fenix, a duo with Senita Appiakorang – which is currently on hiatus.
Tickets for Jess Kav’s headline show at the Workman’s Cellar are on sale now for €15.00.
