Jim Sheridan has been named among the judges for the Jameson "Done In 60 Seconds" Film Competition 2011
Sheridan is one of Ireland's most successful ever film directors, with the Oscar winning My Left Foot and In The Name of The Father to his credit. Sheridan's latest film Dream House – a thriller starring Daniel Craig, Naomi Watts and Rachel Weisz – is scheduled for release in 2011.
"I am honoured to be on the judging panel for the prestigious Jameson 'Done in 60 Seconds' film competition," Jim told Hot Press. "We have a wealth of talent and budding directors in Ireland, and this competition offers a potential platform for international recognition.”
The competition culminates at the Jameson Empire Film Awards in London in March. Two Irish finalists will be announced in January. The international finalists from countries around Europe – including Ireland – will travel to London for a VIP weekend, with all 20 finalists gathering for a special 'Done in 60 Seconds' award ceremony on Friday March 27. A shortlist of five entries will be announced there – and the directors will attend the Jameson Empire Awards on March 29. In front of a room of top movie talent, one overall winner will be chosen and presented with their very own Jameson Empire Award.
