"Stephan Jenkins is such a creepy fucking douchebag," tweeted Zach Lind, clearly not willing to sugarcoat things.
The Jimmy Eat World drummer was not happy with Third Eye Blind Stephan Jenkins after both bands toured together. And he made a point of making it clear by unleashing heavy criticism.
What started as a nice collab quickly turned sour and escalated into a one-sided war of words on Twitter.
Stephan Jenkins is such a fucking creepy douchebag.

His comment was accompanied by a picture of Third Eye Blind backstage guidelines, which read:

“The members of Third Eye Blind will not be wearing laminates. Please learn their faces so they are granted entrance to all areas of the venue, but please also be diligent in making sure they are the only people allowed entrance backstage without laminates.”
Just the way these photos are arranged tells you all you need to know about that operation.

I genuinely feel bad for anyone stepping in to defend this dude when they have no idea what they’re defending. My assessment of the man here is extravagantly generous.

While Lind did not share much details as to why he personally cannot stand Jenkins, he did not stop his rant there. Instead, he went on to claim that the frontman modified Third Eye Blind recording contract behind his bandmates' backs.
And for those saying I should have said my peace in person, A) you don’t know I didn’t and B) you’re coming to the defense of someone who literally redrafted his bands recording contract for his own benefit on the eve of the signing & didn’t tell his bandmates until years later!

"While I agree that that laminate thing is a little weird, I wanna know more about why you're publicly dragging their singer at the end of the tour. Not defending anyone, I just need more information, otherwise this seems petty," commented a fan of both bands. "Just look up his [Jenkins] many lawsuits with former band members and you can find evidence of this quite easily," answered another Twitter user.
"Zach you should ask Kevin Cadogan about how Stephan fired him and tried to take all the credit for the songs he helped write," added another, turning the Twitter thread into a heated discussion about whether or not the allegations made by Lind are justified.
Clearly, not everyone was on his side, with many calling him out on what is perceived as a childish behaviour.
"You’re doing your band mates a disservice by acting like a petulant child. How about you keep your unsolicited opinions to yourself and stop ruining the fan experience?" said one fan in a Tweet. "Music is meant to bring people together not create divides dude," added another.
Says the shittiest drummer for the shittiest band, ever. We were all bored by you and pissed we had to endure you. Sorry you feel the need to shit on someone who helped you make money. What a douchecicle move.

Yesterday (August 14), the Jimmy Eat World drummer was criticized on Twitter by user Liseli Thiele who said that his diatribe equates to defamation of character.
It’s true. https://t.co/eYWAXmT6AH

While Stephan Jenkins did not publicly reply (yet?), the comments have generated quite a debate. There is no indication as to whether or not the allegations made by Lind may lead to further frictions or if the feud will be put to rest.
In any case, it seems safe to say the two bands will not tour together ever again.
