Joachim Cooder, celebrated multi-instrumentalist and son of Ry Cooder, has announced a four-date tour in Ireland starting on 29 August.
Cooder will play Campbell’s Tavern in Headford, Co. Galway on 29 August, The Black Box in Belfast on 30 August, Whelan’s in Dublin on 31 August and Hawk’s Well Theatre in Sligo on 1 September.

Cooder will sing, play electric mbira and percussion. He will be accompanied by Rayna Gellert on fiddle and Mark Fain on bass.

He was born in Santa Monica in 1976 and grew up surrounded by music alongside his father, legendary guitarist Ry Cooder, who took his son on the road at an early age as a drummer.
Joachim has collaborated with iconic names like Johnny Cash, Ali Farka Touré, Mavis Staples, Steve Earle, John Lee Hooker, Dr. John, Nick Lowe and Buena Vista Social Club.
He released his most recent album Over That Road I’m Bound in 2020. The project is his interpretations of songs made famous by Appalachian banjoist Uncle Dave Macon.
