Expect plenty of jumping jive - and lots more! - next February
Joe Jackson makes a lot of oldish men and women happy with the news he’s playing a fully-seated Dublin Olympia show on February 5.
One of the maverick English talents who piggy-backed their way into the charts during the ‘70s on the back of punk, Jackson has gone off on numerous flights of musical fancy during his career, but always delivered the goods.
His new album, Fast Forward, is another interesting departure with four sets of songs recorded with four different bands in four separate cities - New York, Amsterdam, Berlin and New Orleans - which all leave their mark on the tracks. These include stunning versions of Television’s ‘See No Evil’ (from NYC, natch) and German cabaret staple, ‘Good Bye Jonny’ (go on, guess!)
Jackson is promising a career-spanning show with a short solo/piano set at the start followed by full-band fireworks.
