His new record is out now.
Following the release of his brand new album Love is Magic, John Grant has announced a pair of headline shows on these shores on Wednesday the 27th of March in University Concert Hall in Limerick and Sunday the 31st of March at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre in Dublin.
It'll be a relatively swift return to Ireland for Grant, who recently supported The National at their Energia Park show. With his fourth solo album, the former Czars man continued to demonstrate his evolution sonically with what was his most electronic record to date.
"Each record I make is more of an amalgamation of who I am," commented the singer-songwriter. "The more I do this, the more I trust myself, and the closer I get to making what I imagine in my head."
Despite this increased focused on finding new and interesting angles on the sound front, Grant isn't frugal with his trademark autobiographical writing on Love Is Magic, confirming that "the lyrics, of course, continue to be very important to me. They’re just snapshots of everyday life where myriad moods and every sort of horrible and hilarious occurrence one can imagine mix with the pedestrian resulting in the absurdity and beauty of life."

Laden with themes of duality both musically and lyrically, the album explores the dichotomies of life of is a further feather in the cap for John Grant, whose solo career has gone from strength to strength since his five year hiatus after the disbandment of The Czars in 2004.
All of this will be evident when the Michigan man performs the record at the Limerick and Dublin dates. Tickets for both go on sale this Friday, October 19th, at 10am and are priced at €40 inclusive of booking fee.
