"Fun fact. We all have to lip sync on this parade."
Rita Ora was one of the many performers to join the Macy's Thanksgiving on 22 November, including the likes of Kelly Clarkson and Diana Ross. However, the UK popstar was faced with an embarrassing moment when she was caught on camera lip syncing - and failing.
The 'Anywhere' singer faced backlash from fans that were shocked and disappointed to see the star lip syncing during the parade. John Legend came to her rescue on Twitter telling the world "Fun fact. We all have to lip sync on this parade ".
Fun fact. We all have to lip sync on this parade because the floats don't have the capacity to handle the sound requirements for a live performance. Hope y'all enjoyed it anyway. Know that if you come to my shows, the vocals are 100% live! https://t.co/C2bGj63AF6

Legend defended Rita Ora, explaining "the floats don't have the capacity to handle the sound requirements for a live performance." The singer added his shows are "100% live" and it's just the circumstances of the parade, but hopes everyone "enjoyed it anyway."

Macy's have apologised to the artists and fans affected by the technical difficulties during the parade, saying the "issues were out of the artist's control."
During today’s NBC broadcast of the #MacysParade several recording artists experienced technical difficulties that negatively impacted their performance. We apologize and want fans to know these issues were out of the artist’s control.

In true spirit of her new album, Pheonix, it's certain Rita Ora will overcome this hiccup.
