A star-studded line-up, including KT Tunstall and Richard Curtis, has been revealed for Dear John – the second annual John Lennon tribute concert in aid of War Child UK, taking place on what would have been the Beatle's 80th birthday on Friday, October 9. Like last year, the event is set to be hosted at the Hard Rock Hotel in London, while the concert streams live on YouTube at 8pm (GMT+1).
Organised by Blurred Vision's frontman Sepp Osley, who escaped war-torn Iran as a young child in the '80s, the Dear John concert will celebrate John Lennon's music and legacy, while bringing together fans and artists from different generations and backgrounds
The evening will include performances of Lennon songs by, or tributes from, KT Tunstall, Larkin Poe, Peter Gabriel (part of the Dear John video), Richard Curtis, Maxi Jazz of Faithless, Lindsay Ell, PP Arnold, Andy Fairweather Low, John Ilsley of Dire Straits, Graham Gouldman of 10cc, Gowan (frontman of Styx), Nick Van Eede of Cutting Crew, Blurred Vision with Lyndon J Connah, Mollie Marriott, Laura Jean Anderson, and more to be announced.
The concert will be streamed online for free, while also inviting viewers to donate to the fundraiser.
