Paul Weller will be headlining in Dublin as part of a tour for his newest album 66
Paul Weller will set out on tour in the UK & Ireland this year, including sold-out shows and a headline performance at Trinity College Dublin as part of the Summer Series. Weller is also scheduled to play a show in Limerick Castle on July 3.
This announcement follows the release of the newest lead single from his new album 66 on April 5.
The song originated from a musical sketch by Dr. Robert, with additional collaboration from Hannah Peel and Leah Weller.
The album's sleeve is designed by Sir Peter Blake, marking Weller's 66th journey around the sun. The album is set to release on May 24, just before his 66th birthday.
Paul Weller, known for leading the Jam and the Style Council, has had a successful solo career for over 30 years. His latest album, 2021’s Fat Pop (Volume 1), topped the charts in the UK.
Recorded over three years at his Black Barn studio, 66 features collaborations with peers such as Noel Gallagher, Bobby Gillespie, and Suggs. Additionally, contributions from artists like Dr. Robert, Richard Hawley, Steve Brooks, and Say She She are noted in the album credits. The lead single, 'Soul Wandering,' presents a polished midtempo rock sound with regal horns, gospel-style backing vocals, and dynamic organ melodies.
