The digital edition of Johnny Lappin's memoir is out now.
Two years after the original release of Johnny Lappin's acclaimed book, In A Lifetime: From Hozier To U2, the Irish music industry veteran has launched a digital edition – featuring new updates in response to the impact of Covid-19 on live music.
The book chronicles Lappin’s journey throughout the course of his career, as he became a leading light in Irish music publishing, a valued IMRO member, a brilliant lecturer and a tireless campaigner for the rights of Irish musicians.
Through his quick wit and characteristic candour, Johnny Lappin delineates his remarkable career – which has seen him cross paths with the legendary likes of U2, Hozier, Van Morrison, Elton John, Clannad, Bob Geldof, Philip Lynott, Ian Drury, Rory Gallagher, Chrissie Hynde, and many more. It's a warts-and-all account of life lived in the 24/7 world of music.
In the digital edition, Lappin also shares his thoughts on the impact of Covid-19 on the music industry, in a new chapter entitled 'Pandemic Postscript'. He also reflects on some of the major happenings in music since 2019 – and quotes Jackie Hayden's powerful article on the major issues facing musicians trying to earn a living, published on hotpress.com last year.
Both the digital and paperback editions of In A Lifetime: From Hozier To U2 are available now from Amazon.
