The song, which was released last Friday, is the leading single off the artist’s forthcoming album.
Today, the founding member of legendary Irish rock band Bell X1, Dave Geraghty, released the leading single for his sophomore album under his solo moniker, Join Me in the Pines. The single, ‘She Steps into the Light’ was released last week as a preview of the album, Monomania, out on 30 August.
The video features Geraghty singing, alongside band members Marc Aubele on keys, Mick Major on bass, and Tim O’Donovan on drums singing in a dusty bar. Drag queen Coco Ri steps into the light and appears centre stage as the otherworldly ‘80s synths clear way for the chorus.
Fans can expect a similar sound in Monomania, which will feature Geraghty’s distinctive vocal and songwriting style, “but this time he has conjured a more edgy ‘80s synth world,” according to a statement from the band.
The album, mixed by Ross Dowling, will be released by Decal Records on 30 August.
Join Me in the Pines are currently touring and will feature at this year’s Electric Picnic. Check out the list of their upcoming shows:
