Joy Crookes and Uly's performances for Van Morrison's 75th birthday celebrations are going live tonight.
Following stunning performances on 'Rave On, Van Morrison' last night, we're bringing you more back-to-back performances – with Joy Crookes performing 'Madame George', followed by Uly performing 'The Street Only Knew Your Name'.
Over the course of the YouTube event, celebrating Van Morrison's 75th birthday, you can expect even more renditions of his remarkable songs from some of the most iconic names in the country.
Tipped as one of the Hot Press 'Hot for 2020' acts, and nominated for the inaugural BRITs Rising Star Award, Bangladeshi-Irish artist Joy Crookes has rapidly established herself as one of the most thrilling talents in international music. Following a string of acclaimed releases, including 'Early', featuring Irish rapper Jafaris, she returned earlier this year with 'Anyone But Me'.
Uly, aka Rafino M.J. Murphy, is a Dublin-based multi-instrumentalist and astrophysics graduate. He’s studied classical guitar, played in hardcore bands and with his current project draws on assorted funk, soul, jazz and folk influences. He released his new EP, if you were a day, you'd be sunday (songs to go walking to) earlier this summer.
Joy Crookes' performance of 'Madame George' (7pm Irish Standard Time) and Uly's performance of 'The Street Only Knew Your Name' (8pm) premiere tonight, September 10, on the Hot Press YouTube channel.
