Following Malaki's dazzling set last night, we're delighted to announce an extra special edition of the Hot Press Lockdown Sessions, brought to you by the sea-faring legends from Grace O'Malley Whiskey. Tonight, March 24, we're presenting a double headliner – with Junior Brother at 19:30 GMT, followed by DJ Mona-Lxsa at 20:30, live from the Hot Press Instagram.

An idiosyncratic and richly lyrical singer-songwriter, Junior Brother has enjoyed a landmark 12 months. Since being chosen as one of RTÉ's Rising Irish Stars of 2018, the Kerry native has played support for a variety of like-minded acts, such as The Proclaimers, Lankum and Glen Hansard – the latter bringing him on a tour of the US East Coast in July 2019. He also embarked on a European tour with The Murder Capital earlier this year.

Junior Brother's debut album, Pull The Right Rope, was released back in May to critical acclaim – earning him a Choice Music Prize nomination for Album of the Year, as well as two nominations for the RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Awards, for Best Folk Album and Best Emerging Folk Act.

Also making some major waves in recent years is the multi-talented DJ Mona-Lxsa. As the founder of GXRL CODE, a worldwide creative collective and platform for women across the industry, Mona-Lxsa has played a significant role in reinventing Dublin's music scene. Since moving to Ireland aged 17, she has earned an enviable reputation for her impressive performances at festivals across the country, including Electric Picnic, Longitude and Body & Soul.

Mona-Lxsa was also selected as one of a six Irish representatives to take part in the PRS Foundation's Keychange Development Programme for 2020 – leading a global movement for change in the music industry.
