Following the release of 'Life's New Haircut' last month, Junior Brother is back with a live video for the single, filmed in the Dublin Mountains.
"In June 2020, Ellius Grace and I went up to the Dublin Mountains to film a live, stripped-down version of 'Life's New Haircut'," the Co. Kerry singer-songwriter wrote on Instagram. "It was the first time since the start of the lockdown that I had left my house in Kerry, which made the experience all the more profound for me. I hope ye enjoy it."
Pull The Right Rope, Junior Brother's debut album, was nominated for the Choice Music Prize Award for Irish Album of the Year. Two nominations were also earned at the 2019 RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Awards, for Best Folk Album and Best Emerging Folk Act.
"The blades of razors split the sky long after this poem was put onto a page a few years ago," he says of the new single. "The recording of the song to tape happened to finally come just before all our worlds closed down. It found its true meaning shortly thereafter with the new shape the world span in accentuating its sentiments. Although allegorical, I believe this song speaks for itself. Aren't you glad we're not alone?"
