Today in St Stephen's Green Park, Just Eat revealed details about their retreat spot at this year's Electric Picnic.
The leading online food delivery service along with ambassadors - social media star James Patrice, 2fm radio presenter Tara Stewart and lifestyle blogger Sarah Hanrahan - announced 'Flavourville'. Located within the Just Eat Retreat at the festival, the spot will have something for everyone, catering to those who enjoy sweet, savory and spicy.
Patrice, representing the sweet food options, was particularly eager about Just Eat having Arctic Stone involved. The company are the first that hand-roll ice-cream to sell food in Ireland.
"It’s amazing having all these artisan street foods available at EP. I think you feel a bit more glamorous eating hand-rolled ice cream than an old cone," says Patrice.
Also announced was that Indian and Pakistani restaurant Daata will be in attendance. This news delighted spice representative Stewart who said: "I’m half Indian. I’ve been brought up on spicy food. I’m hoping this year with more on offer, people will be inclined to push themselves out of their comfort zone and try the spice. The food is so delicious, onion bhajis, tikka masala. I honestly think it's the best for festivals."

Meanwhile, chains such as Box Burger and Platform Pizza will also be present at the Just Eat Retreat, for those wishing to stick to staple festival snacks. "They have lots of fast food but of really good quality. There’s going to be a massive array of burgers, pizza, noodles. Everything you want at a festival," said Hanrahan representing savory.
Just Eat are also running two services this year - Just Eat Waiters and the Just Eat Picnic Porter Service. The first allows those chilling in the Flavourville relaxation space to have their food hand delivered by waiters.
"What I like about the Just Eat Retreat every year is that it’s the place to go to relax, sit down and charge the phone. The Just Eat waiters are there to help you get a bit of grub in," said Patrice.
The Just Eat Picnic Porter Service, meanwhile, will see rickshaws stationed at the entrance of the festival ready to help picnic-goers deliver their kit to the camp site.
"They carry your luggage and by tipping them and the Just Eat Waiters you're making a donation to the Peter McVerry trust. All the money will go straight to them. I think it’s a good incentive because everyone’s wrecked and wants their luggage carried up but you can then fight homelessness in the process," added the sweet representative.
The rise in the quality of festival food implies Ireland is becoming more multi-cultural, according to Patrick: "There’s so many different restaurants opening and the likes of Just Eat make it so accessible for people to order any kind of cuisine they can think of. It wasn’t like that a few years ago."
For the 2fm presenter, these diverse options are what make Just Eat and Electric Picnic such good collaborators: "Electric Picnic bring so many different types of artists from all over the world. Just Eat do that in terms of food. For them two collaborating, it’s a perfect fit."
