The track opens with a sample from long time collaborator Chris Kabs.
Irish/Jamaican/Nigerian hip-hop artist JYellowL is back with a new single today, titled 'La vie est belle' ("Life is beautiful"), pairing up with Chris Kabs again.
The lyrically quick and playful track is reminiscent of the Maynooth-based act's roots and his labour toward success. "I’m reminded of how far I’ve come," said JYellowL on the single. "The song is also a statement of intent and how far I’m yet to go," he added, noting the difficulty in making a name in the music industry. JYellowL depicts his dedication through his lyrics:
"Who stay grinding?/ I stay grinding / They went on holiday/ I stayed grinding."

25-year-old Jean-Luc Adenrele Ibrahim Koko Uddoh (aka JYellowL) is known for his creative and genre-melding singles which are inspired, in part, by Irish upbringing and Nigerian/Jamaican heritage– these cultural undertones bring further depth to the artist's self exploratory track.

"I was writing exams at the RDS / One day imma fill it with the audience," JYellowL says on the track, name-checking the Ballsbridge exam hall and concert venue.
'La vie est belle,' comes after the rapper's January single 'Stepped In'– a collaboration with experimental rap artist Kamakaze.
This new single is just the most recent instalment of the experimental artist's rise to prominence, as his music gains traction around the globe. As of now, JYellowL's standout track 'Ozone' has surpassed 3.5 million streams on Spotify and his 2018 track 'Oh Lawd,' which was featured in Element Pictures' Normal People, has surpassed 2.5 million streams.
