The song, which features wholesome lyrics delivered by a talented group children aged between 9 and 12, has finally received its official release today.
Kabin Crew have finally released an official version of their highly anticipated track, 'The Spark' Feat. Lisdoonvarna Crew this Thursday via Rubyworks / 95.
The track, which is performed by a group of schoolchildren in Cork and Lisdoonvarna, went viral on social media, amassing over 350 million views on platforms such as X (formerly Twitter) and TikTok.
“The response has been amazing,”Garry McCarthy (GMCBeats), the creative director of the Kabin Studio and co-producer of 'The Spark', said on Monday.
“The kids’ energy and positivity have inspired people worldwide. It’s been all over TikTok especially. It’s bonkers, we’ve never seen something like this!”
'The Spark' was created at Kabin Studio, a repurposed metal container turned into a non profit youth music space in Knocknaheeny on the northside of Cork City.

Established in 2012 with the support of Music Generation Cork City, Mr McCarthy says that “The Kabin has grown out of a love for hip hop, songwriting, performance and building confidence within young people.”
The producer goes on to say that the songs inception came about: “During one of our weekly rap workshops with the kids, we were looking for something upbeat to bring up the energy and found a PapaPedro-produced drum n bass beat online, and instantly started coming up with the initial chants and chorus ideas.”
The Kabin Studio is also running an outreach initiative called “Rhyme Island” funded by Creative Ireland.
McCarthy says: "We basically bring the work that we do at the Kabin Studio to youth groups, schools and direct provision centres around the island of Ireland. We had been tasked with creating an anthem for this initiative so we decided to use this new track as the anthem and focus the lyrics on finding the creative spark within us”.
The music video sees the group of Cork pre-teens take turns rapping and showing off their moves and was in one day at the Kabin, on the top-deck of the 202 Bus and the Pavilion Music Venue.
The video was all shot by Kabin studios alum Seán Downey aka SwanIGuess, a videographer, who is now part of the tutor team at the Kabin.

Garry McCarthy emphasised the song's community-centric roots, noting, “We’re doing stuff like this all the time – new songs every week with the team of talented and caring tutors and volunteers at The Kabin. This one just happened to go a little bit further.”
He added, “We hope that the success of this will help to secure the Kabin Studio’s future, support the wider group of young people that we work with and allow us to deliver more outreach projects for kids with fewer opportunities.”
The chorus and first verse of the track were recorded during an Easter camp at the Kabin Studio and the second verse was recorded at a Rhyme Island outreach workshop day at a direct provision centre for asylum seekers in Lisdoonvarna.
Today's official release sees the song become available on streaming services such as Spotify, Apple Music and Youtube Music.
