I was 13 when I discovered Rory Gallagher. I watched the live version of ‘Too Much Alcohol’ - recorded in Dublin in 1977 – on YouTube. I was completely flabbergasted! I immediately wanted to discover more of his music, and to learn how to play slide guitar.
I really like the Celtic influence in his music, and his blues is very original. But I think Rory’s personality is also special, because he was both incredibly talented and humble. His music is truly authentic and sincere. He is by far my favourite musician and composer, and a true inspiration to me.
