The art-rock singer says she's "very keen to start working on a new album."
Kate Bush has revealed her plan to create new music, marking the end of a lengthy hiatus since her last studio album in 2011. During an interview on BBC Radio 4, Bush spoke about her eagerness to return to songwriting, saying, "I'm really looking forward to getting back into that creative zone."
This announcement comes as Bush releases Little Shrew, a four-minute, black-and-white animated short she wrote and directed to support War Child, a charity aiding children affected by conflict.
Set to her 2011 song 'Snowflake', the film explores the horrors of war through the perspective of a vulnerable shrew. Bush collaborated with an illustrator to create this poignant piece, inspired partly by Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine. “I wanted to draw attention to how horrific war is for children,” she said.

Kate Bush, famous for hits like 'Wuthering Heights,' experienced a resurgence in popularity for her 1985 classic 'Running Up That Hill' due to Stranger Things and its prevalence on TikTok.
She acknowledged the emotional challenges of recent years, saying, “I think we’re all just worn out… We thought we’d return to normal after the pandemic, but it seems like there’s always another crisis.”
