The Dublin-based artist's new album is out next month.
Following the release of 'Mona' back in May, Katie Kim is back with a new single, 'Eraser' – also set to feature on her upcoming album, Hour Of The Ox, out September 9.
Like 'Mona' – the video for which delved into some gloriously dark, and slightly disturbing, territory, complete with creepy guinea pigs and copious amounts of slime – 'Eraser' arrives alongside its own captivating visuals, co-directed by Katie and Orla Maher.
“I have a really vivid memory of writing 'Eraser' at around 2am in the morning, straight after watching All The President's Men," the Waterford-raised, Dublin-based artist says of the new single. "I'm pretty sure it's not a song directly about Watergate, but the tune and melody began tapping away at me during a scene where Robert Redford, Woodword, meets Deep Throat for the first time in a parking garage.
"I stayed up for a few hours fleshing it out and mostly wrote it all that night. When it came time to record it, we asked Ellie [Myler] to come in and see what she thought around percussion and she really added a different dimension to the feel I think. She added an extra sneakiness and playfulness to it, which in turn adds to the feeling of covert operations in the night.
Produced, arranged and recorded by Katie and long-time collaborator John "Spud" Murphy, Hour Of The Ox is set to be her concluding work under the Katie Kim moniker.

Her lauded 2016 album, Salt, was previously nominated for the Choice Music Prize.
“People describe my music as dark all the time – although I don’t really describe it as that myself,” the boundary-pushing artist recently told Hot Press, as part of an upcoming interview. “There are elements in there this time that are bigger, like live strings, and lots of layering and synthesisers. And lots of use of bass tones and drones. But I like to think that myself and Spud get a balance between dark and light – so it’s not an album full of darkness.”
