Dublin artist Keelan X releases second single ‘These Days’ following his debut release ‘No Fall of Rome’ late last year.
‘These Days,’ Keelan X’s newest single from his forthcoming debut album, has an indie-synth-pop crossover sound, combining both contemporary and ‘80s elements.
“Musically the song is intentionally a bit of a nod to the 1980s. Lyrically, the song explores the highs and lows that exist around technology and relationships in society today,” Keelan X said.
After a ten year break from the industry, since his band The Marigolds parted ways, Keelan returned to music during lock-down.
“The pandemic pushed the pause button on life as we knew it. It has been a wake-up call for a lot of people including myself,” he said.

Re-emerging onto the scene after a decade surprised both his friends and himself, adding that he now writes from an entirely different perspective than he did in his twenties.
“I’m not coming at this as a youngster writing about finding my place in the world but as an adult having been through a few scrapes in life and taking a good look at myself and life as I see it,” he said.
On the topic of age bias within the industry he said, “I work with people half my age and twice my age and it’s a non-issue for me. I don’t get the obsession with age, though I guess the music, fashion, movie business is age biased."
"We’ve all had the experience of going to a party with mixed generations only to find out that the most interesting person in the room is the old lady sitting in the corner. That’s who I’d be chatting to anyway!” he said
Keelan plans to release singles from his upcoming debut over the course of 2022.
