Even though he’s already on his second album, you’d be forgiven for being completely oblivious to Lethal Dialect, a sharpshooting Blanch-born emcee who makes woozy, classic-sounding hip hop. But given that new track ‘Keep It Real’ sent the blogosphere into overdrive when it premiered last week, we reckon Irish hip hop is due to get a right royal shaking up when LD50 Part II hits the shelves. The accompanying music video, a brilliant piece of work shot and edited by Joe Dooney, shows Lethal doing precisely what you’d think a north Dublin rapper would be doing: bumming around with his mates, getting tattooed and smoking weed. This, of course, is nothing new, and neither is rapping about keeping it real, but something about the Dubliner’s flow makes the whole thing decidedly fresh.
