The two met on the platform of Dartford train station on October 17th 1961.
Rock and roll legends Mick Jagger and Keith Richards have marked the 60th anniversary of their first ever meeting.
The two met on October 17th for the first time on Platform Two of Dartford station in 1961, before forming the Rolling Stones a year later. A blue plaque commemorating the moment was unveiled on the platform in 2015.
At their concert at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California last night, Jagger and Richards marked the 60th anniversary of that famous meeting.
They also shared an image of a special plectrum featuring an image of Jagger and Richards along with the words “17 October 1961-2021 – 60 years on the same train.” on social media after the show.

The Rolling Stones are currently playing their rescheduled ‘No Filter’ tour of North America, which proceeded as planned despite the death of drummer Charlie Watts in August.
