The Compton rapper said the U2 front-man was someone with "wisdom and so much knowledge, in music and in life".
Kendrick Lamar was interviewed by Rolling Stone recently and he had some kind words for Irleland's most famous musical export, Bono.
For those who may not be aware, U2 featured on the track 'XXX', the near 8 minute opus and arguable centerpiece of K-DOT's highly acclaimed 2017 album DAMN. He told the magazine how Bono and Co. ended up on the track, commenting that the refrain was originally intended for a "different record we were supposed to be doing together":
I just happened to have an album coming out, so I just asked him, like, "Yo, would you do me this honor of letting me use this record, use this idea that I want to put together because I'm hearing a certain type of 808, a certain drum to it." And he was open to it
Lamar went on to sing the U2 Front man's praises, calling home someone with ""wisdom and so much knowledge, in music and in life.Sitting on the phone with him, I could talk to him for hours". he said
"The things he's doing around the world, of just helping people, is inspiring"
