Kesha's forthcoming album follows 2020's High Road.
Kesha has just announced her fifth studio album, Gag Order, which will arrive to listeners May 19th via Kemosabe Records and RCA Records.
Two leading singles– 'Eat the Acid' and 'Fine Line' — are set to drop this Friday, April 28th.
Kesha produced Gag Order alongside Def Jam co-founder Rick Rubin, who has produced a slew of hit albums, including work for Metallica, the Beastie Boys, Tom Petty, Rage Against The Machine, AC/DC, Neil Diamond, Adele, and many more.
The upcoming album's title, Gag Order, is likely a reference to Kesha’s highly publicised legal battle with producer Lukasz “Dr. Luke” Gottwald, who the singer has worked with on the majority of her discography.
In 2014, she sued the producer for alleged sexual assault, seeking to free herself from his label, Kemosabe Records. To public outcry, the courts constantly denied her cases and appeals. Now– Gag Order will be released via the company.
“I feel as if there has been an implied gag order for a very long time now," the singer told Rolling Stone, adding: “With my ongoing litigation hanging over my head, I have not been able to speak freely because I know everything I say is scrutinised.”

The forthcoming record seeks to tackle emotional darkness head-on, and bring colour to emotions.
"Without the darkness there is no light. So I let my darkness have the light," the singer remarked. "I can’t fight the truth. Life is difficult and painful. It is for everyone."
Gag Order is available for preorder now, and will be released on May 19th, 2023.
