The ‘Tic-Toc’ singer thanks fans for their support following court ruling
Kesha has released her first statement since a court denied her request for an injunction against producer Dr. Luke.
"I am beyond words in gratitude," the singer wrote in a post accompanied by a selfie. "Thank you is not enough but it is all I have. A million times over and forever thank you. The support I have received has left my face swollen from tears. I love you all so much."
In October 2014, Kesha sued Dr. Luke in California in an attempt to void her contracts with him and his business subsidiaries, claiming that over 10 years the producer had "sexually, physically, verbally and emotionally abused [her] to the point where [she] nearly lost her life." In New York, that same month, Dr. Luke countersued for defamation and breach of contract.
Since the injunction has been denied there has been an outpouring of love and support for Kesha from her fans and from the music community alike. Taylor Swift publicly donated $250,000 dollars to her legal fees while Lena Dunham penned a Lenny Letter about her disgust at the courts decision.
Lady Gaga, Lorde, Grimes, Demi Lovato, Lilly Allen and Kelly Clarkson have also been outspoken in their support of the singer.
Kesha has confirmed that a longer statement about her ongoing legal battle against Dr. Luke and Sony Music would be coming soon.
