The music video is raising funds for Heroes-Aid.
Keywest and Irish businessman Doug Leddin have joined forces to raise funds for Heroes-Aid, with the new music video for 'Ordinary Superhero'. The fund will provide practical supports, such as essential PPE, and other essential resources to keep our healthcare heroes safe as they continue to fight against Covid-19.
Frontline workers play a starring role in the video, which will also raise funds to provide longer term psychological, educational and practical support for the frontline healthcare workers and their families that have been negatively impacted by Covid-19.
Dr Matthew O’Toole, Nurse Emma Coughlan, Paramedic Steven Mangan and his daughter Saoirse all star in the video for 'Ordinary Superhero' – the moving title track of Keywest's latest album. They encourage others to raise funds for our healthcare heroes and to play their part by staying indoors.
The team behind Heroes-Aid includes Mary Leahy, a Public Health Nurse and National Coordinator for Nurse/Midwife H&S Representatives; Amanda Wilkinson (RCSI); and Damien Nee, a member of the Covid-19 Expert Advisory Group – all coming together with the help of Doug Leddin.

“We want to show our brave frontline workers how appreciated they really are," Leddin says in a statement about the new music video. "Our heroes include doctors, nurses, pharmacists, paramedics and the people who deliver vital supplies, the catering teams, maintenance and cleaning staff as well as the administration staff, who are all working tirelessly. They risk their lives everyday so that many more can live their lives. Let’s give them all the support we can. We need to play our part so that our heroes can play theirs.”
