Accompanying the new single is a scintillating music video shot around Catalonia, Spain.
Today, rapper KhakiKid releases brand new track and video ‘Suckin’ Diesel’ ft Joe Butler. The first of a wave of new music following months of writing sessions with a host of producers and musicians based in London. Since releasing last year’s massive hit single ‘Who’s That Girl’, Khakikid has continued to cement himself as an undeniably fresh presence in the burgeoning alternative rap scene.
Today’s track ‘Suckin’ Diesel’ sees Khaki (Abdu Huss) lend vocals from Kildare artist Joe Butler and production skills from UK sensation Mac Wetha (Amine, Beabadoobee) . Leaning into the mellow hip hop that characterised Khaki’s debut EP and helped build his quickly growing fanbase.
"I wrote 'Suckin’ Diesel' about someone who shows you so much love when you’re together and makes you feel like the only person in the world when you have their attention, but when you’re out with others or having drinks, they make you feel invisible," says KhakiKid. "You get to a point where you don’t want to leave the house with them cause it’ll sour the version of them that you love.

I originally wrote the hook and sang it myself. I asked Joe Butler, one of my favourite artists in Ireland atm, to sing melodies on top of my vocals. After hearing him sing it, it just made so much sense and properly captured the feeling I wanted to get across, so I scrapped my vocals."
Accompanying 'Suckin' Diesel' is a music video filmed around the Catalonian coast with vibrantly sunlit visuals to complement the equally coruscating track.
