Abdu Huss, aka KhakiKid, made waves in Dublin with previous CARSTEN2X track 'Underbite' earlier this year. Now he is aiming to take it up another notch...
Fast-rising Dublin rapper KhakiKid has unveiled another collaboration with CARSTEN2X in the form of 'switching tongues', produced by f3miii.
"This song is so special to me and every listen and share would mean the world," the alternative hip-hop artist posted on Instagram today. "I’m so proud of Carsten 2x and F3miii for all the work that was put in to it. Also - this is the first single off my next EP sand bebé, dropping august 4th."
You heard the man: the follow up to his brilliant debut mixtape, Elevator Music, will land next month. 'switching tongues' is a deeply personal track from the Irish talent, featuring a warm acoustic guitar foundation, soulful harmonies, textured vocals from CARSTEN2X and diaristic flows from KhakiKid.

"You be the death of me, that's fine I know I'll die well / You said that you're meant for me but I know that you lie well," Abdu Huss declares on 'switching tongues'. "...leave when I need you the most, oh you know me so well."
Nor is that all.
"I love what you're doing buddy, keep crushing it. I've never been to Ireland but maybe one of these days, I hope to catch you soon," a voice memo plays near the end.
Back in April, KhakiKid dropped the ferocious 'Underbite' with CARSTEN2X, featuring frenetic beats and hard-hitting raps. Andy Asco and Iarla McKeon directed the powerful video.
“’Underbite’ is about feeling lost or stuck in a dark place," he said at the time. "Carsten had this hook about being down and out, and how you don’t want others to see you when you’re in that state," KhakiKid nots. The duo "open each other up to different perspectives on songwriting. It helped me become more comfortable talking about my past and the things that are hardest to talk about. I’ve always wanted to experiment with different sounds too and working with people with experience really helps. It’s made me really excited to work with others too.”
