The Kerry singer-songwriter is set to celebrate the release with a headline set in Dublin next month.
With a fan club that already includes the likes of David Keenan and Junior Brother, and a string of well-received singles under his belt, Kieran Mulvihill is kicking off a new chapter in his career with the launch of a new project, Silver Branch. Under the recently adopted moniker – taken from the writings of philosopher John Moriarty – the Kerry-raised, Dublin-based singer-songwriter has released a brilliant new single, 'Big Decisions', alongside an accompanying music video.
The release arrives in the run-up to his first headline show as Silver Branch, taking place Upstairs at Whelan's on June 17, with support from Ann Scott. Tickets are available here.
"'Big Decisions' was created around an Analogue Drum Machine I bought recently," the Kerry singer-songwriter comments. "It's the first song I wrote with it as the main foundation for the track, without it I think it would have went in a very different direction.
"The song is about feeling pressured to have all your ducks in a row, so to speak," he continues. "In life, in music or love or a career but what if they're the wrong ducks? It's hard to say."

Previously described as a "poet of the storytelling tradition" by David Keenan, and the "next big thing" by Junior Brother, Silver Branch is set to release his debut album in October. 'Big Decisions', produced by Chris Barry, offers a hugely promising taste of what to expect from the LP – and further establishes the Kerry artist as a deeply authentic and compellingly sincere force in Irish music.
