Kila guitarist Brian Hogan and former Engine Alley drummer Emmaline Duffy-Fallon's new band Preachers Son release Love, Life and Limb next month
The album is out on Reekus Records on October 15. Guest artists include Gavin Friday and Liam Ó Maonlaí.
Life, Love and Limb was produced by Hogan and mixed by Dave Bascombe, who has worked with Placebo, Korn, Goldfrapp, Depeche Mode and others. With Hogan on guitar and vocals, and Duffy-Fallon on drums and vocals, Preachers Son formed early last year and have been gathering momentum with their dynamic live shows, often joined on stage by guest musicians Kieran Kennedy (Black Velvet Band) and Dara Munnis (The Coronas, Jack L).
Writing about the band in Hot Press, Jackie Hayden said that the track 'X For Sandra' bears "all the soundprints of Bowie, Nick Cave and VU, it's a dark work, driven by a doomy riff and punky guitar noises. '26 Years' is more exuberant, with even weightier vocals, craggy guitars and sizzling drums to spark it into life. For 'Born Another Time' they blend a little industrial influence with an early rock’n’roll fifties feel with stimulating effect."
