Watch Ali Comerford's highly anticipated live performance on the Y&E Series tonight – supported by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media...
Following the release of her acclaimed debut album, Knots, we're thrilled to present Ali Comerford as our next act on the Hot Press Y&E Series – going live on the Hot Press Instagram at 7.30pm this evening.
After touring the world performing viola in classical ensembles for 14 years, Ali Comerford returned to her native Kilkenny during lockdown last year, to record Knots – featuring folk-based, classical-influenced original songs, entirely written, sung, played and produced by herself. Ali's journey in music has taken her to New York’s Carnegie Hall, London’s Royal Albert Hall and Dublin’s National Concert Hall – but after spending the last decade of her life playing other people's music, the time has come for her to step into the spotlight as a solo artist. Hot Press described Knots as "a beautifully orchestrated debut."
The Hot Press Y&E Series is supported by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media. Watch Ali Comerford performing live tonight on the Hot Press Instagram (@hotpressmagazine) at 7.30pm.

Friday, August 20: DUNX
Irish-Australian artist Dunx is steadily becoming one of the most captivating talents on these shores – with his surf blues and desert rock-flavoured sound on dazzling display on his latest self-produced single, ‘I Land At Sea’. Armed with a deeply resonant and instantly commanding voice, not unlike Nick Cave, Dunx has previously put in the hard graft behind-the-scenes as a producer and engineer – working with U2, Inhaler, Sorcha Richardson and more – before stepping into the solo spotlight with his debut single, ‘Don’t Gotta Be So Bad’, last year.
