King Princess returned with her first new song of 2020 last month - 'Only Time Makes It Human' - and is currently working on her sophomore album with Mark Ronson.
King Princess is officially back with a banger after dropping only her second single of 2020 - 'PAIN'.
The playful track is an upbeat dance gem that was co-produced by the artist (real name Mikaela Mullaney Straus), Mark Ronson, Shawn Everett, and Mike Malchicoff.
Dspite its playful musical demeanour, the lyrics are all about Straus's proclivity for finding herself in one-sided relationships.
“You and I just get along/ I wonder how I’ll fuck it up...'Cause I can’t help/ Turning my love into pain”.
'PAIN' has a significantly more danceable vibe than her October single 'Only Time Makes It Human', with the artist calling it her favourite song from her entire catalogue.

Speaking to Zane Lowe on Apple Music, she said: “I think what I love about it is it’s got that fucking piano,” she says.
“It’s the ultimate George Michael meets Erotica-era Madonna meets an incredible remix if you’re in a gay club that makes you uncomfortable and horny.”
Many of her pop contemporaries have utilised their downtime from the absence of touring in 2020 to unload tonnes of new music.
“Well, first of all, I totally respect anyone releasing music all the time,” she said. “But I was just between the global pandemic, and then a massive racial movement, I just didn’t feel like it was appropriate to be releasing music, just for me, personally, until time was right.”
King Princess also revealed that she’s spending the rest of 2020 working on her new album with Ronson, who produced her 2019 debut Cheap Queen.
The musician and producer also has a new track to be delivered before 2021 arrives, but is keeping her cards close to her chest.
“Well, I’ve got this track coming out. I’m really excited because it’s going to close my year.”
