Initially founded as the ETEP in 2003, the ESNS Exchange was formed to overcome the significant challenges faced by the European pop music industry in international promotion and distribution.

The project has since played a key role in facilitating, supporting and promoting the global circulation of creative European musical talent. Each year the group hosts a non-profit showcase festival for European artists, and a conference with panels, keynotes, interviews, and gatherings on the latest developments in the international and European music industry.
By partnering with major festivals, the ESNS exchange helps artists find their way onto some of the most sought after bills and lineups across the globe. 2024 proved to be a particularly fruitful year for Irish acts in this regards, with Chalk, Kingfishr and Yard all placing in the top ten most booked acts across a network of 130 festivals.
Last January, the ESNS Exchange celebrated its 20th anniversary - with Chubby Cat, CMAT and Le Boom, as well as many others, amongst the Irish representation at the event. Our man Stuart Clark was on the ground in northern Holland to catch all the action. Read his live reports here.
