Before touring this summer with George Ezra, the Limerick folk band Kingfishr have released the music video for their powerful latest single, 'Heart In The Water.'
The Irish indie-folk band Kingfishr dropped 'Heart In The Water' earlier this month via B-Unique Records. The track now has a music video to accompany it, visually following the trio as they contemplatively walk along a beach alongside crashing waves.
"In essence, ‘Heart In The Water’ is about mortality, and the fleeting nature of life," Kingfishr reveal.
"It’s about taking chances regardless of the risk. That extends beyond relationships, towards everything in life, reflective of lots of little things, but a certain emotion. That emotion serves more as an expression of a place of ours growing up, in terms of family and friends.”

Made up of Eddie, McGoo & Fitz, the members of Kingfishr met while studying engineering at the University of Limerick back in 2017. The week before their finals, the trio released their debut single 'flowers-fire.'

The band named themselves after the kingfisher bird, which frequents the river Boro in Wexford, where Eddie comes from – but they decided to drop the 'e' to give the name a fresh twist. Musically, they take inspiration from U2, Hans Zimmer, and Ben Howard, influences that are subsumed into the band's unique, deep sound.
"There's a storied history to spoken word in Ireland that defines us as a culture," McGoo says. "There's something of that authentic Celtic vibe that I think people are still hungry for. In some ways that's what we're trying to get at, while keeping it fresh at the same time”.
This summer, the Limerick-based trio will be off supporting George Ezra on his summer tour across the UK and Ireland. They're also set to play at the Sea Sessions festival, Lytham Festival and Indie-pendence.
