The woman in question is now bringing a lawsuit against Simmons, who is facing charges of "sexual battery, gender violence, battery and assault''.
In the court documents, the broadcaster claims that the band's frontman made “unwanted, unwarranted sexual advances”. And that she was assaulted by Simmons who, alleging that he "forcefully" grabbed her hand and place it on her knee during an interview that was conducted in an California restaurant that is actually owned by two band members of Kiss. It's also claimed that he also "'flicked/struck'' her throat.
She also claims in her sworn statement that Simmons "turned standard interview questions into sexual innuendos, which made plaintiff extremely uncomfortable".
The attorney representing the accuser, Willie W. Williams told The Sun newspaper: “My client is embarrassed and humiliated by the incident with Mr. Simmons. She filed suit because she wanted to make a strong statement that this behavior is unacceptable and she wants to see an end to this type of behavior.”
But the 68-year-old has now taken to Twitter to deny the allegations. The band's frontman wrote:"“For the record, I did not assault the person making these accusations in the manner alleged in the complaint or harm her in any way."
Speaking to Ultimate Classic Rock, Simons also said: ''I intend to defend myself against any alleged charges you may have been reading about in the media.
"For the record, I did not assault the person making these accusations in the manner alleged in the complaint or harm her in any way. I am conferring with my lawyers with the aim of vigorously countering these allegations. And, I look forward to my day in court where the evidence will prove my innocence.''
