This is the first time in two years that the Belfast-based Kitt Philippa has released new music.
The latest single ‘Human’ is an emotive plea, a call to be close and to be kind, proclaiming: “we are love, we are peace, we are human.”
Although raised on classical music, Philippa’s songs are strangely urban and often conveyed with digital sleight. An organ scholar and an experimentalist, Kitt Philippa plays piano, guitar, clarinet, prayer bowl and bicycle wheel.
Phillipa has previously performed music with The Ulster Orchestra and has been featured on the playlists of Mary Anne Hobbs, Tom Robinson, Huw Stephens, Philly Taggart, Tom Ravenscroft, and RTE 2FM. Kitt has performed for audiences in Berlin, London, Dublin, and Belfast. The upcoming summer tour will feature contributions from a live string quartet, live percussion and Phillippa’s signature layers and loops.
