Hot Press takes a look some fun facts about the Dublin-born star ahead of his sold out 3Arena gig tomorrow.
1. His surname isn't James
The 28-year-old singer was actually born Gavin James Wigglesworth but he goes by his first and middle name professionally.
2. He is an outspoken advocate of Down syndrome awareness
In 2017, he participated in the Down Syndrome Centre’s 2017 awareness campaign Mission 21, and he shares a post with his nephew each year celebrating World Down Syndrome Day.

3. He hails from a musical family
James’ older sister Emma was in the Dublin Gospel Choir before moving to London and does a lot of session work. He’s also shared that his brother and sister guided him in his musical taste when he was younger.
4. He performed for Conor McGregor’s sister’s wedding
When the martial arts and boxing champion’s sister Aoife tied the knot in late 2016, James was there to serenade her down the aisle.
5. Ed Sheeran is one of his earliest celebrity fans

The pop star joined James’ fanbase early on, tweeting “If you ignore Gavin James you’re missing out on a lot!” in 2014, propelling the Dublin singer toward international acclaim. He included James in a 2015 Croke Park gig shortly after.
