Kormac has announced a show at Dublin's National Concert Hall in collaboration with the Irish Chamber Orchestra.
Called Always The Sound: A Retrospective, Kormac's "most ambitious performance to date" will feature a series of special guests and acts as a celebration of his fifteen prolific years in music. It will take place on Saturday 20th March, 2024.
Tickets will go on sale this Thursday 5th October at 10am, and those on Kormac's mailing list will be able to access the presale starting tomorrow, Wednesday 4th October at 10am.
The performer, composer and producer has achieved a lot in the past few years, releasing three acclaimed LPs and composing soundtracks for multiple film projects, including The Diplomat and the New Yorker documentary Swift Justice. He's also somewhat of a live veteran, as he's toured around Ireland and beyond and headlined this year's Body & Soul festival in County Westmeath.
“My most recent album, Equivalent Exchange, was actually written with the National Concert Hall in mind," said Kormac about the upcoming performance. "Equivalent Exchange was the first body of work I’d written that used an orchestra on every track and I visited the hall every week for over a year watching any orchestra I could, learning as much as possible. Over that period, I really fell in love with the room. When it came time to mix the album, I tried to make it sound as if the listener was sitting right in the centre of row four.

“I can’t think of a better venue to showcase my earlier work, the music I’ve been making recently and to show people where I’m headed in the future. I’m so delighted to have a huge number of the collaborators I’ve worked with over the last 15 years joining me on the night. I think it’s going to be one for the books!”
You can find tickets on the National Concert Hall's website.
