There was disappointment for Korn fans on Sunday with the eleventh hour cancellation of their Download Festival appearance in the RDS.
“Lead singer Jonathan Davis has been hospitalised,” said an Aiken Promotions spokesperson. “The band hoped to have a replacement singer, however this was not possible.”
At the time of going to press, Korn’s management and record company were both refusing to comment on the specifics of Davis’ medical condition.
Despite the singer’s absence, the Americans managed to play an abridged set at the UK Download festival the previous day, with assorted 10 Years, Avenged Sevenfold, Devildriver, Skindred, Slipknot, Trivium and Stone Sour members stepping up to the mic.
The rest of Download Ireland went swimmingly, with full Metallica and Guns ‘N’ Roses reviews and pics in the next issue of Hot Press, coming out out Thursday.
